Zarouchla

Zarouchla, village built in a wooded area with abundant water, chestnut and fir (1050-1200 m altitude). One kilometer from the village starts the Zarouchla’s forest which has an area of 20,000 sq.m. It is located 111 km from Patras NA.

 

Kleitoria

Kleitoria is built on the southeast edge of Achaia, at an altitude of 550 meters on the west side of the valley Aroanios river has a rich history starting from the Middle Ages, continues to Frankish domination and goes to the Nazi’s Troops occupation when (December 1943) destroyed. Today is the seat of the municipality Lefkasios, with ever growing tourism infrastructure. It is located 107 km SE of Patras through Chalandritsa and 130 km SE via Diakopto and Kalavrita.

 

Kalavryta

Historic, beautiful town with intense tourist traffic especially during winter because of the modern ski center. It is built on the slopes of Helmos (altitude 750 m) over the ancient city Kynetha. On December 13, 1943, the Nazi’s Troops, in retaliation for a battle lost by the resistance groups , executed about 1,500 men over the age of 14 and burnt the city. It is located 77 km from Patras NA. 

 

Chalandritsa

Chalandritsa is a town of Farres Municipality. It was part of the barony of Patras which separated according the “Greek conquest Chronicle”, so as to create the Barony of Chalandritsa. In 1216 the tower was built by Baroness (now known as Paliopyrgos) who inhabited by Tremouille. In 1364 (when Halandritsa mentioned as a fortress) was elected commissioner of hegemony the Baron Zacharias, and in 1429 besieged by Thomas Palaiologos. It is 22 km from Patras.
