Chalandritsa is a town of Farres Municipality. It was part of the barony of Patras which separated according the “Greek conquest Chronicle”, so as to create the Barony of Chalandritsa. In 1216 the tower was built by Baroness (now known as Paliopyrgos) who inhabited by Tremouille. In 1364 (when Halandritsa mentioned as a fortress) was elected commissioner of hegemony the Baron Zacharias, and in 1429 besieged by Thomas Palaiologos. It is 22 km from Patras.
Worth Seeing
- The remains of a Frankish castle and the large square tower.
- The Mycenaean settlement discovered in 1985 that includes homes around the hill temple and a public building in the center.
- The Byzantine churches of St. Athanasius and the Assumption of Mary.
- Folk Art and Local History Museum, housed in a restored water mill buildings.
- The villages Kataraktis (7 km E.), Kalanos (14 km S.W.) Micha , Vlasia.
- The wild natural environment of Mountain Erymanthos with coniferous forests, rich wildlife, great views, several springs, streams and red or green shale.
- From here stems and Peiros River, passing south of Chalandritsa and flows into the Gulf of Patras, across the valley Farron-Chalandritsa, a lush landscape with traditional stone bridges, especially popular with hikers.

- Horse riding at “Kourlampa” point, 6.5 km northwest of Halandritsa (on the way to Patras).
- Mountain bike. One of the most interesting tracks is the tour of Mt Lambia.
- Climbing in the fields near the villages Alepochori and Spartia.
