Kalogria is one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece with an endless sandy beach, surrounded by lakes, swamps, rivers and lagoons. The area is rich in wildlife and protected as an important wetland in the Ramsar Convention. Along the beach Kalogria spreads and 20,000 acres of pine forest of Strofylia.

It is 45 km SW away from Patras.

Worth Seeing

 

  • The Lake Prokopos, beauty and rare lake with ecological and scientific interest.
  • The Kotychi lagoon, a significant wetland and breeding of sea turtle caretta-caretta and waterfowl.
  • The remains of the famous wall of Dymeon (Castle Kalogria), ancient fortress of Dymi an important city of the Achaiki Sympoliteia near the village of Araxos.
  • The Natural History Museum, in Lapa Village, 9.5 km SE away.
