Its targets are the promotion and protection of the special natural, historical and folkloric features of the mountainous areas of Greece and the promotion of mild and alternative forms of tourism. Its aim is also the elevation of the united but multiple character of every region and the deeper and more fruitful contact of the visitor with nature. It seeks for a stronger relation between tours and culture.
Its activities include:
• Preparation of studies generally on the development of alternative forms of tourism and specifically the prominence of areas with hiking interest by creating a network of paths
• Publications (maps, tourist guides, leaflets etc) for the promotion of interesting features of the area
• Organization of tours based on schedules (hiking-sailing)
• Organization of cultural and other events
• Interventions for the protection of the natural and cultural environment of mountainous regions
