Start at the square of Daphne and head to Kleitoria. At 4.5km go into road "111" that goes to Tripoli. After 1km you turn left to Pefko – Amygdalia and Skotani. At the junction you will find furnished part, an investment with the contribution of LEADER II. The villages are famous for their traditional character, their traditional products and the hospitality of their residents...

In Skotani (Kokkova) you will see the Temple of Agios Dimitrios and the statue of poet Panos Papadopoulos – Gogolas at the square. 12km after the junction, stop at Filaiika. Back on "111". At the 18.4km, you see a sign on the left to the Lake Cavern, Pafsanias’ Vine, Pagrati, Kleitoria, Kalavryta, Arcadian Kleitoras, the Chelonospilia Monument and the springs of Ladonas in Likouria. The road straight ahead goes to Tripoli.

You turn left and at the 21st km to your right there is a wooden sign informing you that in 50 metres you find Pafsanias’ Vine. Visit this ancient vine that is next to the oak trees. You can also visit the chapel of agios Nikolaos. A sign shows you the trail that takes you to a beautiful landscape in Pagratio through trail E4. Back on the road to Kleitoria and at 22.1km a sign to your right shows you how to get to Chelonospilia, Likouria and Feneos.

Turn right to Chelonospilia and go over the Bridge of Aroanios River. After 1km you see the Monument of Chelonospilia on the rock, where the first battle of the Greek Revolution of 1821 took place. The date 16 March 1821 is carved on the rock. Go back on the road to Kleitoria, with Aroanios river on your right side. You will see a sign to Krinifita at 25.6km and at 29.6km you enter Kleitoria at an altitude of 510 metres.

You will find all kinds of stores here and a nice hotel, and you enjoy its delicious cuisine. At the main square you will see the Temple of Agios Dimitrios and cafes and taverns around it. At the centre of Kleitoria you can visit its Folklore Museum or go to the wooden kiosk for traveller’s information.

Detour to Lefkassio – Filia – Monastery of Agios Athanasios


At the centre of Kleitoria the signs are quite informative. Make a detour to visit the Temple of Agios Athanasios. You follow the wooden sign at the square in front of the Church of Agios Dimitrios. After 100 metres there is another sign on a wall, pointing to the right: Filia, Lefkasio, Monastery of Agios Athanasios. A chestnut tree forest is on your right side as you drive. At the 2nd km you enter a canyon between rocky mountains with low vegetation. It is a winding road but the natural beauty makes you forget the difficulties of driving. Village Lefkasio appears at the 4.7th km and on your way there you can enjoy a view of Tourkovounia, Ano Kleitoria and the ridges of Drymos and Velias. You enter the beautiful village at the 5.7th km. The church of Agios Dimitrios is at the highest place and next to it a stone spring that dates back to the 18th century.

Lefkasio is at an altitude of 865 metres and inhabited by 120 people approximately. You leave Lefkasio and at 6.7km you will see village Filia which you finally reach at 7.5km. A road to the left takes you to the Monastery of Agios Athanasios at the 10th km. It celebrates 0n May 2nd. The stone ruins are the remnants of the fire that the Italians set in 1943. There is a museum in the Monastery with important exhibits, such as a bell of the 18th century, the font of 1867 and others. Go back to village Filia. At the yard of the Temple of Mother Mary, you will see the statue of Theodoros Rigopoulos, which was made in 1905. The Temple celebrates on 11 February. There is a hotel in the area.
