From Trion Symmahon Square in Patras we take Othonos Amalias Street and we keep on straight. On our left hand we can admire the Church of Agios Andreas and on our right hand, the fish – pier of Patras. We then reach Akti Dimaion...

We keep on straight, passing through Krya Iteon settlement and then through Paralia Municipal Deprtment, with lots of traditional Greek taverns by the sea. After about 8 km from our starting point, the road splits in two: If you pass by the road on the right you will folloe a really romantic route by the sea to Roitika- Monodendri – Vrachneika (described below). If we keep on let, we reach the joint that connects the Old and the New National Highways. If you are on a hurry, then you should enter New National highway, so turn left. If you chose the Old National Road you will get compensated by its beautiful spots, drowned in green. Olive trees are the dominant tress, but there is also some kind of variety (lemon trees, orange trees, etc).

At 9 km we enter Monodendri and 1 km after we enter Vrahneika. As you exit Vrahneika, at 12 km we meet a railway. You should be extremely careful. At 12.7 km we enter Tsoukaleika. You can admire here the impressive Church of Agios Haralambos. At 14.4.kml we reach another joint to New National Highway of Patras – Pyrgos. 

From this point, Route 17 starts. We keep on straight, towards Kato Achaia. We pass by Kaminia and Alissos , quite developed villages, since they are watered by Patraikos Gulf. These villages are ideal for swimming. You can also enjoy fresh fish, and endless hours of relaxation. At 20.5 lm we enter Kato Achaia. After 5oo m, there is another joint to New National Highway, which also leads to Eleohori. Anyway, keeping on straight, we reach Kato Achaia’s Square of Democracy. 

Bypass to: Roitika - Monodendri - Vrachneika

If at the point where the road splits in two we pass by and turn right following a route by the sea. This area is suitable for night’s entertainment. There are numerous picturesque taverns and restaurants offering all kinds of food but mainly, fresh fish. There are also lots of cafes and bars open from mornings till late at nights (especially during summer months). However, cars passing by are a bit annoying, although drivers usually don’t speed up. There are also lots of apartments and rooms to let. Overall, it is a wonderful route, by the sea, where you can relax just by watching fishermen boats and high trees. At the end of the road we exit Old National Highway of Patras - Pyrgos, at Vrahneika. The road is quite narrow and during spring and especially summer months the traffic is horrible so you’d better keep slow.
