At the foot of the mountain Saita, there is a hill with the Statue of Liberty, an 'iron' daughter with broken chains on her hands, hoisting to the sky a sword to commemorate the attack on 18 March 1821.

It concerns the famous episode of the Chondrogiannaion action group againts Tampakopoulos and Turkish Seidi Lalioti and his entourage. A historical event that became a legend. Every house in the area keeps relics of that era. The events in Chelonospilia in Froxylia and bridge Ampympaga, upset the Turks, thus encouraging the elders of the area of Kalavryta to proceed to the revolution for the liberation of the nation.
