The City Council of Kalavrita after the death of Konstantinos Fassos on 9/30/1984, founded the Municipal Gallery, after the donation by his family (wife and daughter Giovani) of 49 paintings. Since 1999 the gallery operates in a hall of kalavrita Agrotiki Bank at street Ethnikis Antistaseos 15, next to the Cultural Center in the central Square.

With great skill and delicate sensibility, influenced by the romantic and pastoral element, Kostas Fassos left numerous paintings with light, color, atmosphere and landscape of his native land ,Aroania (Sopoto).

It was one of the most renowned painters of his time, with fifty solo exhibitions to his credit and many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
