mouseio.jpgHoused in a traditional stone building about two hundred years old, with typical architecture: two-storey, built with stone, with a wall thickness over one meter and large windows. Its construction dates back to 1830 and it used to belong to a wealthy family of raisin merchants and it was transformed to a museum in 1997. Consists of ten rooms that can accommodate a total of remarkable exhibits covering all historical periods and occupations of the rural life of the province: various utensils, looms, furniture, machinery, textile materials and traditional costumes.

On the first floor of the Historical Museum, important objects of historical value are hosted. It includes a large number of objects from the Turkish occupation until today, such as weapons, documents, costumes, coins, medals, furniture, paintings and photographs.
There is also a library with history and folklore books, which are certainly worth visiting. The Museum is open daily for students, tourists and scholars.
